Kargil Vijay Diwas commemorated by NCC Units of GDC Akhnoor

AKHNOOR, July 26: In a heartfelt tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of our soldiers, the NCC units of Government Degree College (GDC) Akhnoor commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas through a series of impactful activities. The events aimed to honour the martyrs and instill a sense of patriotism and respect among students.
The activities included a slogan writing and poster-making competition, which saw enthusiastic participation from the NCC Cadets of the College, showcasing their creativity and respect for the martyrs. Additionally, a plantation drive was organised under the theme " Ek Podha Shaheed Ke Naam" to symbolize growth and remembrance, emphasizing the importance of a greener and peaceful future.
A candle tribute was also held, allowing students and faculty to pay homage to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives for the nation.
The events were organised by Dr. Pinki Manhas, CTO Girls, and Prof. Vijay Kumar Rukwal, ANO Boys, under the supervision of Principal of the College Dr. Romilla Malla Bhat.Other faculty members who were also present during the occasion were Prof. Savita Jamwal, HOD Economics, Prof Seema HOD Hindi and Prof Sonu PTI.
Government Degree College Akhnoor remains committed to fostering a spirit of patriotism and community service among its students, continuing to honour the legacy of our nation's heroes.
