| Kamla demands regularization of Home Guard jawans | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Mar 19- Kamla Sharma, President of All J&K Home Guard Welfare Association has impressed upon the state government to consider the genuine demand of the Home Guard jawans who have been protesting for their adjustments. Addressing media persons here today she regretted that despite promises from time to time no headway has been made in meeting the genuine demand of the striking jawans of Home Guards. She said the jawans have been on strike since long demanding their regularization either by creating more battalions of Auxiliary forces, or by adjusting the Jawans in some other Belt Forces, so that they are able to get their salaries as per the revised grades. Kamla Sharma said that the Jawans of J&K Home Guard are getting only Rs. 410 pm while they are performing their duties, with hard work, honesty, regularly and with punctuality. She urged upon the government to pay the jawans on the scale of SPOs so that they could survive till they are regularized or adjusted in some other departments. She said the veteran Congress leader and former MP Janak Raj Gupta has also taken up the matter with the government urging it to accept the genuine demand of the string guards.
