| HRD organize symposium | | |
JAMMU SEPT-21- The Human Resource Development, (HRD), an NGO and award winner from the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests today organized a rural symposium in collaboration with WWF for Nature-India Government Middle School Chadwal Hiranagar. Twenty-five students from several schools of the area took part in the symposium.
The main topics of the symposium were proper management of garbage, solid waste, control of air pollution, protection of trees, plantation including nurturing of new plants and protection and conservation of drinking water.
On the occasion the NGO also planted 200 saplings in the school premises.
Girdhari Lal MLA and Vice Chairman SC/ST Advisory Board was the chief guest while Mandeep Bhandari Additional Deputy Commissioner Kathua was the guest of honour.
Apprecting the performance of the students, Girdhari Lal presented a cash award of Rs.500 for the participating students besides funds for the re-construction of damaged boundary wall of the school .The participating students who secured first three positions were given prizes.
