| Anganwari workers submit memorandum to CM | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 19- Anganwadi Workers Welfare Association submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister listing its demands and sought Chief Minister’s personal intervention in resolving the long pending demands of the workers. The demands made in the memorandum include increase in salary of Anganwari workers from Rs.5000 from Rs.1300 and those of Helpers to Rs.3000 from Rs. 600 per month, release of pending salary to workers and helpers in some blocks of the state, grant of monthly traveling allowance for attending monthly meetings, rentals for hiring accommodation for the Anganwari centre, revision of fuel charges, setting up of grievance committees at district and state level, regularization of workers as government employees working since 1978. The Association also demanded cent percent reservation of Supervisors posts for promotion of Anganwari workers as was the practice in other states of the country besides reserving 3 per cent quota for handicap women as AWWs on the pattern of Social Welfare Department.
