Director of Colleges Development Council JU misuses departmental local funds

JAMMU, July 28: The President of University Jammu Youth Forum (JYF), Rishu Sharma held a press conference and condemned the Director of Colleges Development Council (CDC) of Jammu University Prof Rajeev Rattan alleging that the Director is misusing department local funds under the nose of the Vice Chancellor of Jammu University.
He said that VC in connivance with Director CDC and Local Fund Committee is transferring departmental local funds to other departments for misuse trashing rules with impunity. Just a few months ago, the department gave Rs. 10 lakhs from funds to Bhadarwah Campus for the establishment of Labs.
He also said that purchasing new 7 vehicles from local funds for distributing vehicles to different departments.
Rishu Sharma asked the University authority to tell whether any scholarship has been given to any student till date when the administration charges the admission fees from Students. Instead of spending for the facility of students, University authority is misusing the student's funds for their own benefits ignoring the students.
He further said that despite the Department of Colleges Development Council having three vehicles at its disposal, the Director purchased a new vehicle for himself costing around Rs 18 lakh.
He demanded that LG should get the last 5 years audit done to know the factual position as to how much money came into the Private/government colleges by way of transferring funds from other departments and where spent. The University President has appealed to the Financial Advisor to JKUT and VC JU to get all this investigated and those misusing money should be punished. Among those who were present in the press-conference included, Sachine Gupta, Deepak Kumar, Sunil Sharma,and Anil Sharma.
