JAMMU, July 28: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu-Kashmir unit organized a Jan Chaupal in Ward No. 28 of Bakshi Nagar area of Jammu today, listened to the problems of the people and assured every possible effort to solve them. On this occasion, about two dozen people, influenced by the party's policies and ideas, joined the party.
Party state chief Manish Sahni, announced the Jammu city unit, appointed Rohan Malwal as president, Munish Anand as vice-president, Deepak Sharma as secretary, Vishal Kumar as general secretary. Most of the peoples present on this occasion expressed deep concern and anger over the power-water cuts, rising electricity bills and increasing criminal incidents in Jammu. Party state chief Manish Sahni, who was present on this occasion, said that despite being rich in immense water resources and hydropower projects, the people of Jammu-Kashmir have to face power-water cuts. Every time the electricity meter is changed, a promise of 24-hour power supply is made, but the power cuts continue as a tradition and the same is the situation with water supply. Sahni said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are entitled to free electricity and water and Shiv Sena (UBT) will give them this right. On this occasion 'Vachan Nama/Sankalp Patra' based on people's aspirations was distributed and an appeal was made to support with Shiv Sena (UBT) in the upcoming elections. Along with this all the people present expressed deep grief over the tragic accident that took place at an academy in Rajindra Nagar, Delhi, in which three students died, and expressed condolences to their families. On this occasion, President Women's Wing Meenakshi Chhibber, General Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, President Labour Wing Raj Singh, Shami, Manu Verma were present.
