Foreign ultra among three gunned down, arms, ammunition recovered

Jammu Sept-21- Three hardcore militants including a foreign ultra and Divisional Commander of Albadar outfit were shot died in two separate encounters, security forces recovered a large quantity of arms and ammunition from their possession while one Over Ground Worker has been apprehended from Navapachi area.
According to the official reports, acting on specific information troops of Counter Insurgency Force, Uniform along with JKP eliminated two dreaded terrorists in general area of Ban Mahore of Udhampur district late last night.
The reports said that in a methodical and clinical operation carried out by the troops laid an ambush in the general where two individuals were seen moving suspiciously carrying
weapons.The troops challenged the individuals at which they fired at the troops. The troops also fired back which led to an encounter. While the terrorists tried to escape towards a nallah 30 metres away, the troops led by company commander and other two local policemen closed in and shot dead both the terrorists. However, there was no collateral damage to life or property. The identity of the slain militants has been established as Abdul Ghani @ Abdullah son of Ali Mohammed resident of Khaur Ashiq Ali Sohali@ Wagas son of Mohammed Aziz Sohali resident of Dalwah. Both the slain militants were active in the area for some quite some time and belonging to LeT Outfit.
During search operation the troops recovered one 5.56 mm INSAS, one modified weapon with magazine probably 7.62 mm Dragonev without butt and sight, two INSAS magazines, 39 rounds of 5.56 ammunition, 50 rounds of ammunition of unidentified weapon, one Chinese grenade, one Radio set, Binocular and two pouches from the encounter site.
In the meantime a Police spokesman said that the recovered INSAS rifle hand been looted by the slain militant from one SPO in April 2005 in Gulabgarh area and the ultra was also involved in kidnapping and killing of one civilian namely Shamas Din of the same area on July 9 last.
The spokesman further said that a foreign militant identified as Abu Ishtaq, Divisional Commander of Albadar outfit was gunned down in an encounter with Police and 38 RR at Kotli Kala Ban falling under the jurisdiction of Police station Manjakote in Rajouri district. The slain ultra has been identified as Abu Ishtaq a foreign militant.
A police personnel Head Constable Mohammed Qasim NO 1731/R and an ex-serviceman Mohammed Aslam NO 271 who suffered minor injuries in the encounter were hospitalized. One AK 47 rifle, three magazines, and three grenades were recovered from the slain terrorist.
In the meantime one OGW Shabir Mattu son of Mohammed Yusuf Mattoo resident of Dund was apprehended from Dund 12 Km East of Navapachi .He was later handed over to Police for interrogation.
