GDC Ramban organized plantation drive on the theme "Ek Ped Shahidun Ke Naam"

RAMBAN, July 31: Govt. Degree College Ramban honoured the "Bravery of Kargil Heroes" by organising a plantation drive with the theme "Ek Ped Shahidun Ke Naam" within the college premises to remember the sacrifices of those who got martyred while defending the nation. The event was organized under the overall supervision of Principal GDC Ramban - Prof. Archana Kaul. Lt. Col. Inderjeet Singh Manhas (Shaurya Chakra) of the Grenadiers was the Guest of Honour for the occasion.
In his address, Lt. Col. Inderjeet Singh Manhas narrated the heroic deeds of courage and bravery performed during the seventeen long years of his defence services. Lt. Col. Manhas also narrated his act of unprecedented bravery while fighting the Somalian pirates for which he was later awarded the prestigious Shaurya Chakra. His speech instilled great enthusiasm among the college students, thereby inspiring many of them to join the defence services - for which he also shared success mantras of hard work and discipline. The Principal, Prof. Kaul in her remarks highlighted the need to honour the great warriors of armed forces while celebrating the victory of the nation. She also thanked Lt. Col. Inderjeet Singh for inspiring the students with his stories of bravery and valour.
