KISHTWAR, July 31: During the third day of the ongoing 15 days certificate course on Integrated Nutrient Management for agriculture input dealers being conducted by Krishi Kendra Kishtwar, SKUAST Jammu, at Kishtwar, trainees today visited soil testing Laboratory Department of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Kishtwar. The visit was intended to give them first-hand knowledge and experience of soil testing, parameters of soil testing and soil health cards for making test based nutrient and fertilizers recommendations.
Vikram Bhandari, Sulakshna Sharma and Mehboob Ali Malik from Soil testing Laboratory Kishtwar briefed the trainees about the different laboratory equipment's and machines used for nutrient analysis of soil samples collected from the farmers' fields, analysis of major nutrients of soil micro nutrient analysis and soil sample collection. Participants held deliberations with the staff of soil testing laboratory during the technical discussion held at the end of the visit. Method demonstration on collection of soil sample was also given before the trainee group. |
