DGP J&K sanctions Rs 56 Lakh retirement gift in favour of 56 police personnel

SRINAGAR, July 31: In recognition of their dedicated service to the Department, the Director General of Police, J&K, R.R. Swain, has approved a retirement gift of Rsb 56 lakh for 56 police personnel who are retiring today after reaching superannuation or opting for voluntary retirement.
The retirement gift, amounting to Rs 1 lakh each, has been sanctioned through PHQ J&K Order No. 2012 of 2024, in faovur of one gazetted officer, 39 non-gazetted officers, 09 lower subordinates and 07 followers. These personnel belong to various units and wings of the department.
The sanctioned amount has been disbursed from the Contributory Police Welfare Fund and it is sanctioned in favour of officers/officials at the time of his/her retirement and serves as a token of appreciation for his/her services rendered to the department
Notably, during the current year, police headquarters has already sanctioned Rs 11.19 crore as a retirement gift for 1119 police personnel who have retired from their service.
This gesture of appreciation is a testament to the Department's commitment to acknowledging the contributions of its personnel.
