Fairer sex claims share in thefts

Jammu, March 19: Even as the Jammu Police have unearthed a series of burglaries and busted the vehicle lifting gangs by recovering stolen property worth rupees five millions over past six months, today there was a twist to the story –the fairer sex is now reported to claiming the share in thefts and burglaries.
The Police today claimed to have busted a ring of six women operatives engaged in thefts in different city areas. They were aged between 35 to 45 years and were all involved in petty thefts.
SSP Jammu Manohar Singh said that the Police busted three notorious gangs of thieves and vehicle lifters operating in the City and has recovered gold ornaments and 9 motor cycles during last 24 hours. The vehicles have been stolen from different parts of the city and their actual owners are being ascertained.
The first gang of vehicle lifters busted by Trikuta Nagar police led by SHO Abdul Wahid Giri under the supervision of SP City South Mubisher Latifi and SDPO East Sandeep Mehta. Police team on tip off conducted various raids and busted a gang led by one Manjeet Kumar son of Sansar Chand resident of Kalayana R.S.Pura at present Shastri Nagar.He was helped by Rashpal alias Paali son of Ram Chand resident of Pindi R.S.Pura. After lifting the vehicle they used to tamper the documents and then sell to the gullible persons in suburbs of Jammu City.Those whose motorcycles have been stolen may contact to the SDPO East Office at Narwal Bala
The interrogation of the vehicle lifters is on and recovery of more vehicles is expected in coming days. Owner of all these vehicles are being contacted and the same would be restored after obtaining the proper court orders,he maintained .He further said that second gang of thieves consisting of notorious burglars of Jammu led by Krishan Lal alias Gulla son of Bua Ditta resident of Prem Nagar Jogi Gate at present Digiana was busted by Gandhi Nagar Police led by SHO Sultan Mirza and recovered one gold chain, one golden necklace, six silver coins and one pair ear rings worth Rs.1,06,800/- The recovery was made in Case FIR No.274/08 U/S 454 / 380 / RPC registered in police station Gandhi Nagar on the complaint of one Suman Sharma wife of Kuldeep Raj Sharma resident of H.No.252 Shastri Nagar Jammu in which golden ornaments / silver coins worth Rs.2,35,800/- has already been recovered from Som Nath alaias Somi son of Girdhari Lal resident of Krishna Nagar Jammu.
Narwal Police also busted lady thieves gang identified as Mohani wife of Papu resident of Rajiv Nagar Age, 43 yrs, Beena wife of Raju resident of Rajiv Nagar, 40 yrs, Bahijyo wife of Romesh resident of Rajiv Nagar, Bimla wife of Prema resident of Rajiv Nagar, 50 yrs, Binu wife of Lt Kishore resident of Rajiv Nagar, 38 yrs, Dhama wife of Lt. Suresh resident of Rajiv Nagar.They used to steal the goods during night from different areas of the City. From their possession following items have been recovered in Case FIR No: 68/09 under Sec. 379 RPC.Various stolen items included six Luminous Batteries,two Bend Pipes- 175 kg, one ‘T’ Pipe- 105 kg, Iron rods- 100 kg. Besides this Narwal police led by incharge police post Sajid Parvez also solved various sensational cases. Narwal police arrested two persons while they were committing rape on a mentally deranged woman in Rajiv Nagar area. They allured the lady, took her in a small truck bearing registration number JK02J/9951 and raped her one by one. They were caught red handed while committing this heinous crime. The accused persons identified as Rajan Kumar alias Raju son of Dev Raj resident of Narwal Bala, Jammu and Sanjay Kumar son of Bhagat Ram resident of Sudh Mahadev , Udhampur have been arrested in Case FIR No: 76/09 under Section 376 RPC.Gangyal police also booked a miscreant giving details SSP said that during the intervening night of 17/18-03-2009 one Ganesh Singh son of Karnail Singh resident of Gujjar Nagrota Billawar at present Ekta Vihar Gangyal made a complaint in Police Station Gangyal that his kiosk has been burnt down by some miscreants. During the investigation of Case FIR No.32/09 U/S 436 / RPC, Police arrested one Rajesh Kumar alias Shashi son of Amar Nath resident of Jindhal Khurd Bishnah who confessed that he burnt the Kiosk as he had an old enmity with him. The recoveries are made under the supervision of SP South Mubisher Latifi.
