GDC RS Pura inaugurates two weeks long program to commemorate

RS PURA, Aug 1: The inaugural ceremony of 2-week long celebrations in wake of 77th Independence Day at GDC R. S. Pura were kick started with pomp and show amidst patriotic fervor under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, Principal of the College. The event started with lighting of lamp by the College Principal along with senior faculty . The proceedings of the program initiated with the introductory talk on Indian Freedom Struggle by Dr. Rakesh Choudhary, HOD Political Science and ANO Boys. He emphasized on the fact that India's independence has been a historic change for the country and highlighted the contribution of different ideologies and the Heroes in Freedom Struggle. He further added that because of the sacrifices of many freedom fighters like Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subhash Chandra Bose, Rani Laxmi Bai, etc. we are living in an independent and democratic society today.
While addressing the gathering, The college Principal apprised that on this Independence Day, we should recommit ourselves to the ideals that make our country great and remember the sacrifices that have been made to protect our freedom. She also guided the students to work together to build a better nation.
