VIJAYPUR, Aug 1: The Police Training and Technical Institute (PTTI) Vijaypur has commenced a three-month "Upper Class Course" (Pre-Promotion Course) for Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs) from the Executive cadre of the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The inaugural ceremony, presided over by the Principal of PTTI Vijaypur, marked the beginning of this specialized training program, which is being conducted for the first time at the institute under the directives of the Police Headquarters J&K.
In his address, the Principal outlined the fundamental concepts of the course, emphasizing the significance of physical training, drill (with and without arms), weapon handling, mob control, and other routine indoor and outdoor activities as prescribed in the syllabus. He stressed the critical role of executive police personnel in maintaining a constant state of readiness to respond to their duties. To enhance the learning experience, the Principal announced that special live demonstrations by experts would be organized throughout the training period, equipping trainees with practical skills for efficient fieldwork.

The ceremony concluded with a call for the trainees to engage actively in their training and maintain discipline throughout the course. Among the attendees were Shri Zia-ul-Haq (DySP Outdoor), Inspr. Kulbir Singh (Course Coordinator), Inspr. Surrinder Singh (CDI), Inspr. Ram Lal (CLI), Inspr. Himanshu Dutta (CTI), SI Sulinder Singh (SM Outdoor), and ASI Mohd Rashid (SM Indoor).
