GDC Vijaypur culminates three-days cleanliness drive

VIJAYPUR, Aug 3: NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) and Eco Club (GREEN WARRIORS) of Govt. Degree College Vijaypur culminates with three days long cleanliness drive in and around the college campus that started on 1st august. In the drive, kilos of plastic waste, biodegradable and non-biodegradable wasted was collected and segregated. The drive was organized under Swachhta Pakhwada Programme in conjunction with the 77th Independence Day Celebrations under the able guidance of the esteemed Principal of the College Dr. (Prof.) Vandana Verma.
In the event the importance of cleanliness, hygiene and environmental responsibility were tied to the spirit of Independence. As we celebrate 77 years of our great nation India's freedom, it is imperative that we remember the responsibility that comes with it. Cleanliness is not just about the physical aspect; it's about cultivating a mindset of discipline and respect for our surroundings. Our actions today will shape the future of our nation tomorrow thereby building a clean, green and free India.
Students of the college along with NSS volunteers and Green Warriors actively participated in the cleanliness drive and learnt about segregation of different categories of waste. Principal of the college congratulated the organisers and students for their active participation in the drive. Whole of the event was organized with the full support and coordination of the senior faculty members of the college Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science), Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce) and Dr. Anoop Bhagat (HOD Sociology). The event was coordinated by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO) and Prof. Poonam Kundan (Nodal Officer Swachhta Pakhwada) and co-coordinated by Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Dogri). Refreshment was also distributed during the three days drive.
