GGM SC College organizes the "Run for Unity"

JAMMU, Aug 3: On August 3, 2024, NSS and NCC units of GGM Science College proudly hosted a "Run for unity" event to commemorate 77th Independence Day celebrations. The "Run for Unity" is organized to celebrate the spirit of unity and to encourage the community to come together as one. This initiative aligns with the college's mission to promote values of inclusivity and harmony among students and the broader public.
The event was organized under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, Principal of GGM Science College. He said that "Run for Unity" is not only a race but it also instills values such as unity, teamwork and the feeling of national integration among the participants. He further emphasized the importance of unity in diversity and encouraged students to uphold the values of unity, peace and brotherhood. The "Run for Unity" also serves as a platform to inspire the youth to actively participate in activities that strengthen societal cohesion.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, faculty members and local community members. A 2 km run around the college campus was flagged off by the worthy principal of the college This event served as a tribute to India's independence Heroes and reminder of the importance of staying united as a nation. Refreshment was served to the participants after the event. The whole event was coordinated by ANo's Lt. Dr. Devinder Kumar Sharma, Dr. Shafia Saleem and NSS Program Officers Dr. Neha Sharma and Dr. Rahul Kait.
Prof. (Dr) Romesh Kumar Gupta lauded the coordinating team and volunteers, whose dedication made the event a grand success.
