Jammu, Aug 3: In its war against narcotics, Jammu and Kashmir Police started a comprehensive campaign to identify Rohingyas involved in drug trafficking in different parts of Jammu province.
Highly placed sources said that special teams have been constituted to keep a watch on the activities of some Rohingyas who have been allegedly involved in selling drugs in some slum areas of Jammu city and its outskirts.
Recently a Rohingya refugee at present putting up in the Karyani Talab area on the outskirts of Jammu, with 3 kg of cannabis and it was established during the questioning about the involvement of Rohingyas in drug trafficking and other illegal activities.

The police and intelligence agencies are investigating whether this syndicate is a part of the narco-terrorism active in J&K or not.
As per the record of the government, 5,743 Rohingyas were illegally staying in the state. It is yet to be established whether drug trafficking is a means of raising funds for terror activities or not.
