SP South Ajay Sharma leads from front, Police solve 3 loot cases

JAMMU, Aug 3: Working under the aegis of Operation AVTAR, Jammu Police under the supervision of SP South, Ajay Sharma solved cases of assault and loot that took place in Greater Kailash area in the recent past.
On 22 July 2024, PP Greater Kailash received a written complaint by one Sudheer Kumar resident of Dist. Auraiya, UP; at present in Upper Krishna Nagar, Jammu regarding an attempt to murder case faced by him by some unknown miscreants at Greater Kailash, near Fawara Chowk He stated that, "Today on Monday around 2:30 AM, I am on way to my home from my office, Dainik Jagran Newspaper, Badi Brahmana. I was traveling with my colleague Devendra Kumar on my motorcycle (Splender Black). When we reached near Fawara Chowk, suddenly three youths on a motorcycle came from behind and kicked our vehicle. We lost control and fell on the road. The attackers, armed with sharp weapons, attacked me. I put my arm forward to save my head, which resulted in serious injuries to my arm. The attackers took my motorcycle and fled the scene. Then I called the police control room number 100, at 2:35 am and an ambulance was sent to the spot. I am currently admitted to Jammu's Government Medical College Hospital."
On receipt of this information FIR No. 73/2024 under section 126(2)/115(2)/304(a) BNS & 4/25 Arms Act of P/S Gangyal was registered and investigation taken up.
Different teams were formed to analyse CCTV footage and work on human intelligence. By great efforts, all three accused persons (two of whom are minor), led by ring leader Ilyas Matoo @ Alex r/o Badi Brahmana, Samba, were apprehended.
During questioning, they accepted their involvement and at their instance, the toka and the vehicle used to commit the offence was recovered. The stolen motorcycle was recovered and also the receiver of stolen property was arrested.
On further questioning, they also disclosed their involvement in two other cases of similar nature where they had attacked the victim and subsequently looted their belongings.
On the sustained interrogation of the accused relating to these other cases - recovery of mobile phone, other weapons used by them in committing of offences were also recovered.
