Illicit liquor recovered; accused arrested, FIR lodged: Reasi police

REASI, Aug 5: Continuing the ongoing drive against drug abuse and illicit liquor, District Police Reasi has successfully recovered a significant quantity of illicit liquor and arrested the individual involved in its smuggling.
In a recent operation, police team from Police Check Post (PCP) Balini, during routine checking and frisking, apprehended one person identified as Raj Kumar, son of Madan Lal, a resident of Padoh, Katra. During search police recovered 18 quarters of JK Desi whiskey and one bottle of whiskey from his possession.
In this regard, a case has been registered under FIR No. 216/2024 U/S 223 BNS at Police Station Katra, and an investigation has been initiated to uncover both forward and backward linkages. The arrest and recovery were made by I/C PCP Balini and SHO Katra.
While sharing the details SSP Reasi, Mohita Sharma-IPS, emphasized the commitment of Reasi Police to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and illicit liquor smuggling from the area. She urged citizens from all sections of society to come forward and support the police in their anti-drug efforts.
