GDC Neeli Nallah organizes internship program

JAMMU, Aug 5: Govt. Degree College Neeli Nallah district Udhampur organised 15 days summer Internship programme for the students of 5th semester, as per the University Clause Statute in the FYUP- NEP 2020 in collaboration with Govt. Middle school, Dhanni, Anganwadi /community centres and Mahatma Rasila Ram vedic Vanprasth Ashram Jib. The internship programme started under the able guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora, Principal of the College. The internship programme aimed at professional training of the students in a suitable organization at college level in order to gain work experience. During the internship period at Govt. Middle School Dhanni, the students learnt various teaching skills through practical work experience related to their field of study in addition to the various strategies of teaching-learning process. Students from 5th semester were provided with opportunities for internship in collaboration with Panchayats/Aganwadi/Bal Ashram where the curricular component seeks to blend with community engagement. This program offered a wide range of opportunities to gain insight into the community out-reach programme. The objective of the internship was a kind of glimpse and exposure to real life situations in rural and urban context. Total 67 students having Education, Political science and Sociology as major subjects participated in this internship programme under the supervision of their respective supervisors, Dr Maansi Sharma and Dr Sunil Tanoch. The Principal of College, Prof. (Dr.) Seema Arora, along with internship Supervisors Dr. Mansi Sharma and Dr. Sunil Tanoch also visited these centres. Dr. Seema Arora, worthy Principal of College motivated the students and emphasized that the students have wonderful opportunity to understand the different socio-economic problems in the community where they were acquainted with different community organisational structures.
