JAMMU, Aug 6: A vibrant plantation drive was held at Vishwa Yog Sansthan, Hari ki Pauri, Jammu, as part of the ongoing Clean and Green Jammu movement. This weekly initiative, occurring every Tuesday, aims to make Jammu healthier by planting 1 lakh trees, of which 30,000 have already been successfully planted.
The event began with students and volunteers from Vishwa Yog Sansthan participating in a yoga session. Following this, the plantation of various medicinal and beneficial plants took place, reflecting the commitment of the movement to environmental sustainability and community health.
The chief guest for the event was senior leader Davinder Rana, who was warmly welcomed by ex-corporators Sham Bassan, Bansi Lal Gupta, Sucha Singh, and retired judge Om Prakash Sharma. Their presence added significance to the drive, and they collectively invited the people of Jammu to join this noble cause.
During the event, Sham Bassan and Bansi Lal Gupta addressed the attendees, emphasizing the importance of the Clean and Green movement. They expressed strong support for the initiative led by Yog Guru Karan, highlighting its potential to transform Jammu's environmental landscape.
Despite the monsoon rains, the plantation drive continues to thrive, focusing on planting medicinal and beneficial plants in rural and suburban areas.
