GDC Vijaypur celebrates Vigilance Awareness Week

VIJAYPUR, Aug 8: Government Degree College Vijaypur today celebrated Vigilance Awareness Week with a pledge-taking ceremony aimed at promoting integrity, transparency, and accountability within the institution and the broader community. The event is part of a nationwide initiative organized by the Government of India to raise awareness about the importance of vigilance in governance. The ceremony commenced with the Principal of the College, Dr. Vandana Verma, addressing the faculty and students about the significance of vigilance in public administration and everyday life. "Vigilance is not just about monitoring; it's about fostering a culture of integrity and trust. We all have a role to play in combating corruption and ensuring a transparent environment," she stated. Following the address, students and faculty members gathered to take the vigilance pledge, committing themselves to uphold the principles of honesty and to act against corruption in all its forms. The pledge emphasized the importance of proactive vigilance in personal and professional conduct, urging participants to report any instances of misconduct and to promote ethical behaviour. The event highlighted the collective commitment of the college community towards fostering an environment of integrity. The week-long observance aims to spread awareness and inspire students to become vigilant citizens who contribute positively to society. The programme was coordinated with the active support of senior faculty members of the college, Prof. Anita Jamwal (HOD Political Science), Prof. Anoop Bhagat (HOD Sociology), Prof. Mamta Gupta (HOD Commerce) and Prof. Ritu Bhagat (HOD Education). The whole programme was coordinated by Prof. Poonam Kundan, Convenor of Cyber Jagrookta Committee , Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO) and co-cordinated by Dr. Manoj Heer (HOD Dogri) and Prof. Meetu Sharma (HOD Geography).
