Three days Intra College Sports Mela held

Ramban, Aug 9: Government Degree College Ramban organized a three-day long Intra college Mela from August 6 to August 8, 2024 as part of the celebration of the 77th Independence Day. The event was held under the patronage of Principal, Prof. Archana Kaul. The event was inaugurated by a distinguished panel of senior faculty members, comprising of Prof. Satish Kumar, Prof. Raj Kumar Gupta, Prof. Sanjay Kumar Katyal, Prof. Jawaid Sarver, Prof. Romesh Chander, and Prof. Rabinder Kumar. The very first day of the event witnessed eight talented players vying for top honors in Badminton and Table Tennis. The Badminton competition saw intense rivalry with Pawan Kumar of Semester 5th emerging victorious in the Single category after showcasing his exceptional skills and ability on the court. The Doubles category was won by the dynamic duo of Dheeraj Singh and Pawan Kumar, who demonstrated remarkable teamwork and strategy to outmaneuver their opponents. In Table Tennis, Abid Paswal dominated the Singles category with his impressive performance while the Doubles category was won by the unbeatable pair of Abid Paswal and Mehtab Bhat, who displayed remarkable coordination and skill to take home the top prize. The second day of the tournament witnessed an exciting volleyball final, where the boys of Semester-V emerged victorious over their Semester-III counterparts. The final day of the event featured thrilling Carrom and Chess competitions. In Carrom, Simran Kotwal and Ashfaq Ahmed secured victory by defeating Furkan Ahmed and Saista Banoo. While in Chess, Danish Singh outplayed Haritik Singh to claim the title.
The event was a resounding success, with the college community coming together to celebrate the spirit of sportsmanship and patriotism. The college congratulates all participants and winners on their achievements, and extends its gratitude to the sports committee and faculty members for their tireless efforts in making the event a memorable one. In the end, prizes and trophies were distributed to the winners of respective games. The whole event was coordinated by Convener of sports Dr. Rabinder Kumar (HOD Hindi) and the members of the Sports Committee.
