Gdc Sidhra observes vigilance awareness week

Sidhra, Aug 9: In continuation to the series of events being conducted to observe Vigilance Week, GDC Sidhra under the aegis of IQAC organized a lecture and documentary screening event.
Event began with a lecture by Dr. Mehmood Ahmed, HoD Urdu and Convenor Sports Committee. The theme for the lecture was “Say no to corruption”. He explained various forms of corruption prevalent in the society and stressed on the fact that all of us need to fight strongly against all forms of corruption in our day to day life.
After lecture, a documentary was screened in which meaning, types and characteristics of corruption were explained.
After that, initiatives and laws framed by Government against corruption were also shown to students.
Various activities are being conducted during the whole week to instill the theme of “Say no to Corruption; Commit to the Nation” and to increase awareness among the various stakeholders to fight the menace of corruption. Corruption is an evil that erodes the very foundations of our society and hampers the progress and development of our nation. It shatters the trust between citizens and the government and has far-reaching consequences. Therefore, it is our solemn duty to combat corruption and uphold the values of integrity and transparency.
The event was organized jointly by NSS Unit, Sports Committee and Red Ribbon Club with active support of Dr. Harpreet Kour and Dr. Anu Sharma.
Students from various semesters and staff of the college participated in the event. The entire program was organised under the able guidance of Worthy principal of the college, Dr.G.S.Rakwal.
