Director Ayush, reviews functioning of Ayush sector of district Bandipora

Srinagar, Aug 9: Today on 08-08-2024, Dr. Mohan Singh, Director Ayush J&K, chaired a review meeting regarding functioning of Ayush sector in District Bandipora in the conference Hall of Mini- secretariat Bandipora . All Medical Officers of District Bandipora attended the said meeting. Dr Firdous Ahmad Malik, District Nodal officer Ayush Bandipora gave a detailed presentation on functioning and issues of the District. Dr Mohan Singh, Director Ayush J&K reviewed the work-done of Ayush Health and Wellness Centres and Ayush Units of District Bandipora. He emphasized that every AHWC must ensure that the data is uploaded on daily and Monthly basis on AB-HWC portal of Ministry of Ayush, Govt. of India. He also reviewed the progress of ongoing infrastructural projects of Ayush Health and Wellness Centres, Construction of Ayush Dispensaries and other projects in the District. He advised for effective implementation of various Ayush Public Health Programs so that strength of Ayush systems of health promotion, prevention and management of diseases can reach to general public. He also highlighted that every AHWC must ensure standards of Health Care delivery as per NABH standards. He also reviewed the status of Accreditation of 05 AHWCs of District Bandipora with standards of NABH.
During the meeting, the Director highlighted several key achievements and ongoing efforts in the promotion of Traditional Systems of medicine, including Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, and Homeopathy. Emphasizing the importance of holistic health, the Director expressed a strong commitment for integrating Ayush practices into the mainstream healthcare System.
The Director reviewed the establishment and operational status of Ayush Health and Wellness Centres in Bandipora. Plans to increase the OPD and outreach of these centres, especially in remote and underserved areas, were discussed to ensure broader access to Ayush healthcare services. The Director appreciated the role of previous and present district officers and medical officers in achieving the goal of inter-sectorial convergence at district level in achieving the best infrastructure for Ayush institutions. The meeting addressed the need for improved infrastructure and adequate staffing at Ayush centres. Initiatives to train and recruit more Ayush practitioners were proposed to meet the growing demand for traditional healthcare services in the District. The importance of raising public awareness about the benefits of Ayush treatments was emphasized. Strategies for conducting regular health camps, wellness workshops, and educational programs were deliberated to involve the community for promoting Ayush practices.
The Director also stressed upon the reorientation training programs for Medical officers, supportive staff and ASHAs in order to provide better Ayush healthcare facilities to general masses. Discussions were held on integrating Ayush services with existing healthcare facilities in Bandipora District. Collaborative efforts with local hospitals and health departments were proposed to ensure a holistic approach on Ayush Principles and Practices.
In line with promoting sustainable practices, the Director discussed plans for requisition of tree species saplings for plantation drives in Ayush grams and Health and Wellness Centres. This initiative aims to support environmental conservation and foster the cultivation of medicinal plants.
The review included discussions with Medical officers on utilizing digital platforms to enhance the accessibility of Ayush services. Director Ayush J&K gave a patient hearing to various issues faced by Medical officers Ayush and gave on the spot directions for resolving the same.
In conclusion, the Director expressed optimism about the progress and future of the Ayush sector in District Bandipora. With a dedicated focus on holistic health, community involvement, and sustainable practices, the Ayush Department is committed for improving the well-being of the people in the region.
Dr Nuzhat Bashir, Deputy Director Ayush Kashmir, Dr Sujad Hussain Shuja Assistant Director, Directorate of Ayush, J&K, Mr. Bashir Ahmad Section officer Directorate of Ayush and Mr. Imran Khan State Program Manager National Ayush Mission also attended the said meeting.
