Jammu, Aug 10: A one-day awareness program on "Drug Abuse and Preventive Measures" was successfully conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Society for Promotion of Youth and Masses (JKSPYM) in collaboration with the State Level Coordinating Agency (SLCA) J&K, under the National Master Plan for the Prevention of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse (NMBA). The event took place at the NCC Camp in Nagrota and was held in partnership with the National Institute of Social Defence (NISD), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment (MOSJE), Government of India.
The program saw the participation of approximately 200 NCC cadets, who were educated on various aspects of drug abuse, including the types of psychoactive substances, causes of addiction, signs and symptoms, the cycle of addiction, as well as prevention and treatment strategies. The event also featured interactive sessions and role plays, which engaged the cadets and allowed them to actively participate in the learning process.
Colonel MK Sharma, who was present at the event, commended the efforts of the SLCA team in raising awareness among the youth. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives in preventing drug abuse and fostering a healthy and informed generation. |
