| Buses plying without permit on Rajouri roads | | | Early Times Report Rajouri , March 21 Transporters of Rajouri and Poonch have strongly warned the Police and the Transport Department against allowing the buses without permit to ply on Rajouri-Poonch routes. In an emergency meeting held at Rajouri under the chairman of Bharat Bhushan Gupta, the transporters observed that several passenger vehicles are plying on Rajouri-Poonch routes without valid permits and licenses and in utter disregard established rules and norms of the Motor Vehicle Department. While noting that this practice is harming the genuine transporters of the region, they said that plying of illegal buses on the route cannot happen without active patronage of Police and the Motor Vehicles Department. The Transports while accusing the Police and MVD of promoting such unhealthy practice called upon the District Police of Rajouri, Poonch and Jammu and also the MVD authorities to take cognizance on the matter so as to avoid a clash between the genuine and the illegal transport operators. The meeting noted that a particular luxury bus bearing number JK02AJ – 7539 is operating between Rajouri and Jammu daily without any valid permit or other legally required documents. They said that besides inflicting serious losses to the genuine operators in the region this bus service is violating all established norms of the MVD. The transports said that the matter has several times been brought to the notice of police but no action has been taken so far. They further said that if the Police and the MVD fail to intervene in the matter they shall be held responsible for any untoward incident in stopping such illegal buses to ply on the Rajouri Poonch roads me: got it sir..
