GDC Darhal holds cleanliness drive in the local market

DARHAL, Aug 10: In a bid to promote a clean and hygienic environment, the Government Degree College (GDC) Darhal organized a cleanliness drive in the local market at Darhal. The initiative was led by the college Principal, Prof. Zamir Mirza, who encouraged the student volunteers and faculty members to participate enthusiastically.
The event was jointly coordinated by the Convenor Swachhta Pakhwada, Dr. Ghulam Abbas, and Dr. Mohd Akhlaq, NSS coordinator who involved members of the civil society in the drive. Dr. M. Saleem Wani, Dr. Taseem Ahmed, and Dr. Anzaar Ahmed extended their full support to ensure the successful conduct of the event.
The students and faculty members, along with the members of the local community, gathered at the Darhal market and took part in the cleaning activities. They collected and disposed of the waste, swept the streets, and ensured that the market area was left in a clean and organized state.
Principal Prof. Zamir Mirza expressed his appreciation for the participants' dedication and commitment to the cause. He emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in public spaces, stating that it contributes to the overall well-being of the community.
The cleanliness drive was well-received by the local residents, who commended the efforts of the college and the volunteers. The event not only promoted a sense of civic responsibility but also fostered a stronger connection between the college and the community.
