GDC RS Pura organizes plantation drive

RS PURA, Aug 10: Staff of GDC R.S. Pura launched the "Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam" campaign in the College Campus today on 10.08.2024 under the esteemed guidance of worthy Principal of the college Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour. The campaign, aimed at honoring martyrs by planting trees at work places, marks the beginning of a significant movement to blend respect for our heroes with environmental conservation. The event started with tree-planting ceremony, where college faculty actively participated in contributing and planting trees, symbolizing their tribute to the martyrs. Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, the college principal in her address, emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, 'Ek Ped Shaheedon Ke Naam' campaign is more than just a tribute, it is a commitment to honor our martyrs by contributing to a greener and more sustainable environment leading to sustanable future. She further added that we are trying to adjoin on every student and teaching community to join this movement and help in creating a lasting legacy of remembrance and environmental stewardship." The launch event was attended by all the teaching and non-teaching staff and they expressed their support for the campaign. Dr. Chanchal Angral NSS PO was the overall co-ordinator of the programme which is a part of series of events taking place in and outside the college campus for Independance Day Celebration.
