UDHAMPUR, Aug 12: In a grand and spirited celebration of India's 77th Independence Day, Government Degree College (GDC) Udhampur hosted an exhilarating inter-college quiz competition and an inspiring essay writing contest, marking a standout event in the district's Independence Day festivities. The celebration was graced by the esteemed presence of Principal Dr. Sanjay Verma, whose visionary leadership continues to inspire academic excellence at the institution. The inter-college quiz competition saw enthusiastic participation from various distinguished colleges across Udhampur, with teams exhibiting outstanding knowledge and analytical prowess across a broad spectrum of subjects, including history, politics, and general knowledge. The competition was a testament to the intellectual vigor and passion of the participants, who thrived in a challenging and intellectually charged atmosphere. Concurrently, the essay writing contest provided a reflective platform for students to delve into the essence of Independence Day. The submissions, meticulously reviewed by a panel of respected judges, showcased a profound comprehension of India's struggle for freedom and its enduring influence on modern society. The event, which was coordinated by Dr. Jagjeet Singh, Prof. Tania Akhtar, Prof. Bhanu Priya, Prof. Sanjeet Singh, and Prof. Vijay Kumar, stands as a testament to the college's unwavering commitment to promoting academic excellence and engaging students in meaningful intellectual endeavours.
