State level Dogri Writers Conference at Udhampur

Udhampur, Mar 21- A State Level Dogri Writers Conference organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages was inaugurated here today by eminent poetess and scholar Padam Shree Padma Sachdev. Prominent Dogri and Hindi writer, Prof. Ved Kumari Ghai, renowned scholar and critic Prof. Nilamber Dev and Zafar Iqbal Manhas, Secretary, Cultural Academy were in the presidium.
In her inaugural address Padama Sachdev impressed upon the Writer community of Duggar region to work for connecting the Dogri with latest global technology. She however expressed her deep hearted satisfaction over the development of Dogri Language and literature in the State. While recalling her childhood days in the District she spoke very high and with full of her emotions and said that this is fertilized soil and legendary personalities like doyen of Dogri Prof. Ram Nath Shastri who left us a few days back.
Prof Ghai in her key note address said that a great need is being felt for togetherness of movement of Duggar identity. She urged upon the Dogri writer community to work jointly in an organized manner so that we can able to achieve much needed goals. She said Dogri should be developed as a language of “Science and Technology” adding that with this we could be able to face the challenges with great zeal and conceited.
Prof. Nilambr Dev Sharma ,while speaking about the Dogri movement which was started before Independence said that we must follow footsteps of prominent personalities like Padam Shree Prof. Ram Nath Shastri,i Dinu Bhai Pant, Narinder Khajuria, N.D. Jamwal, K.S. Madukar and others who worked hard for the development of Dogri language and Duggar identity. He also applauded the role of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages for its contribution in promotion of literature, folk lore and Culture of Duggar entity
Zaffar Iqbal Manhas hile welcoming the distinguished guests, writers, scholars, senior Citizens said the main objective of this conference is to provide a platform to Dogri writers to set together and chalk out an agenda for Dogri language and its future. He said we are expecting a concert out come of this event being organized after the gape of two year.
On this occasion the latest Academy’s publications including first ever Hindi-Dogri Dictionary, Sheeraza Dogri, “Rattian” a collection of Dogri Poetry written by Padam Shri Padma Schdeva all the publications of Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art Culture and Languages were released
Several prominent Dogri writers, poets, scholars were also honored for their contribution to Dogri language and literature. They honoured included Dr. Om Goswami, Prof Shiv Nirmohi, Prakash Premi, Kuldip Abhishap, Dr. Jatinder Udhampuri, Mohan Singh, Darshan Darshi, Prof. Veena Gupta, Gianeshwer Sharma, Praduman Singh Jandrhia and Prof. Satpal Srivats,
