Health Deptt organizes HIV & Hepatitis screening camp for sanitation workers

DODA, Aug 13: As part of the ongoing Swachhta Pakhwada initiative, the Block Medical Officer Ghat under District Health Society Doda organized one day HIV & Hepatitis B & C screening camp for sanitation workers at Town Hall Complex Doda.
The camp organized by BMO Ghat Dr Abdul Gafoor was held under the close supervision of CMO Doda Dr Om Kumar and in close coordination with GMC Doda and Municipal Council Doda.
The camp was aimed, to ensure the health and well-being of those who play a critical role in maintaining cleanliness in the district and to ensure regular monitoring and testing of Sanitation Workers for Hep.B & C and HIV to prevent and control the transmission of the contagious diseases among the Sanitation Workers, who are called as the Brand Ambassadors of the society.
The camp provided comprehensive health screenings for all the sanitation workers, against HIV and Hepatitis B & C ensuring they are fit and healthy to continue their essential duties.
The health staff on this occasion also educated them about the importance of health, hygiene and significance of living a healthy lifestyle.
During the camp, around 100 Sanitation Workers including staff of the MC Doda were tested by a dedicated team of the Department of Microbiology and ICTC GMC Doda.
Earlier, a Swacchta Pledge was also taken by all the participants to maintain cleanliness & to motivate people for this noble cause.
The camp was graced by Chief Executive Officer Municipal Council Doda Ninad Sen in presence of HOD Microbiology GMC Doda Dr Safia Khan, HOD Pathology GMC Doda Dr Sumat Khurshid, Umar Anayat (Epidemiologist), Mohd Shafi Attu (HE), Mashhood Latif, Dr Sameera Zargar, Saima (Councillor ICTC), Sanjeev Rana, Mohd Umar Mughal besides staff of CMO, BMO Office Ghat and MC Doda, who were also present on the occasion.
