NCC Units of GDC celebrate 78th Independence Day

Kathua, Aug 13: On August 13, 2024, the NCC units of Government Degree College (GDC), Kathua, organized a vibrant “Poster Making Campaign” and the “Har Ghar Tiranga Rally” under the able guidance of the college’s esteemed principal, Prof. Seema Mir, to commemorate the 78th Independence Day.
During the event, Principal Prof. Seema Mir addressed the students, underscoring the importance of celebrating Independence Day as a tribute to the brave soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice for the nation’s freedom. She highlighted that it is a matter of great pride to live in a country where every citizen is equally valued. She encouraged the cadets to honor the legacy of the soldiers by showing unwavering respect for the nation and committing themselves to its welfare whenever called upon.
The day’s activities included a spirited Poster Making Campaign and a rally within the college campus, designed to instill a sense of nationalism in the young minds and encourage them to spread this spirit throughout society. The event was meticulously organized under the supervision of Ms. Raj Kumari and Lt. (Dr.) Daya Ram, with the collaborative efforts of faculty members Mr. Jagdish Kumar (HoD Chemistry), Ms. Shraddha Anand, Dr. Kehar Singh, and Mr. Arun Kumar. The cadets displayed great joy and enthusiasm throughout the program, which was further bolstered by the continuous motivation and guidance of COs Mr. Muneesh Jasrotia of the 2nd J&K Girls Battalion and Colonel (name not provided) of the 4th J&K Battalion.
The event successfully fostered a deep sense of national pride and unity among the participants, making it a memorable celebration of the nation’s 78th Independence Day.
