GGM Science College Hosts Tug of War Event, Pledge for Drug-Free India.

Jammu, Aug 13: GGM Science College held a vibrant Tug of War event on August 13, 2014, as part of the Swachhata Pakhwada and Independence Day celebrations. The event, which took place on the college premises, brought together teaching staff, non-teaching staff, and students for a day of spirited competition and unity. Under the esteemed leadership of Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, and with meticulous organisation by Dr. Vinod Bakshi, Director of Physical Education, the event was a notable success. The competition was intense, with the final match between the students and a combined staff team drawing enthusiastic support from the audience. The staff team emerged victorious. Another significant event was the collective pledge for a “Nasha Mukt Bharat” (Drug-Free India). The pledge was a commitment to make our country drug-free.Staff, students and non-teaching staff pledge to actively contribute to the fight against substance abuse by promoting awareness, supporting healthy lifestyles, and advocating for a drug-free environment. This event was a testament to the strength and spirit of our college community,” said Principal Prof. Dr. Romesh Kumar Gupta. “We are thrilled with the enthusiastic participation and the sense of unity it fostered among everyone involved. Our pledge towards a drug-free India reflects our dedication to creating a positive and supportive environment for all.”
The event was further enriched by the participation of NCC Officers Lt. Prof. Devinder Kumar Sharma and Dr. Shafia Saleem, and NSS Programme Officers Dr. Rahul Kait and Dr. Neha Sharma, whose collaboration ensured the smooth execution of the day’s activities.
