| Div com visits migrant colony | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, MARCH 20 -The Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Pawan Kotwal today visited Gurha Jagir, Naiwala in Akhnoor to inspect the ongoing developments of the colony for rehabilitation of migrants under Prime Minister Reconstruction Plan Deputy Commissioner, Jammu, Dr. Mandeep K. Bhandari, SDM Akhnoor Saugat Biswas senior officers of PHE, PDD, R&B and Revenue department accompanied the Divisional Commissioner. Emphasizing the need for setting up good infrastructural facilities in the upcoming Migrants Colony the Divisional Commissioner enquired about the status of basic facilities like drinking water, road network, drainage system and provision of electricity in the colony. He said that all constructions should be undertaken as per site-plan and instructed the respective heads of the departments to take up the pending works at a quick pace so that the allottees don't face any problem. He also enquired from the concerned authorities about the status of possession of plots and instructed that no illegal possession should be allowed in the colony. He directed the Flood Control Department that protection bunds should be constructed wherever required so that the colony is protected from inundation. He was informed that alottees who have completed construction work up to plinth level would be provided second installment of Rs.25,000 at the earliest. He called upon PHE, PDD and R&B departments to gear up their manpower and machinery for completing the ongoing works within stipulated time frame making optimal use of the available resources.
