Cluster University of Jammu celebration of 78th Independence Day

JAMMU, Aug 14: School of Social Sciences, Cluster University of Jammu organised a Three-Day programme to celebrate 78th Independence Day through specially conceived events and programmes dedicated to the soil of the motherland from 12-14 August, 2024.
On the very first day, "Poster Making Competition" was organised under the theme "Viksit Bharat". Nearly 25 students from the Department of Commerce & Department of History participated with great zeal in the competition. The first prize was given to Gunveen Kour, (student of Integrated M.Com 8th Sem), Shaista Afsheen (PG History 2nd Sem) bagged the 2nd prize and 3rd prize was given to Simran Koul (Integrated M.Com 8th Sem).
On the Second day, a "Patriotic Song Competition" was organised. The program aimed to honor the spirit of Independence Day by showcasing students' vocal abilities through performances of patriotic and inspiring songs. Nearly 15 students from the Department of Commerce & Department of History participated. The first prize was given to Ghulam Mariyam (PG History 2nd Sem), Sarfraz (PG History 2nd Semester) bagged the 2nd prize and 3rd prize was given to Simran Koul and Gunveen Kour (Integrated M.Com 8th Sem).The event was also attended by Co-ordinator Dept. of Commerce, SOSS, Dr. Neetu Kumari and other faculty members -Dr.Ajay Kumar Chalotra, Dr. Nitin Chandel, Dr. Arvind Jamwal were also present in the programme.
On the third day (14th August), a "Tiranga Rally" was organised by School of Social Sciences, CLUJ. The students participated and marched from main gate to all the departments of the institution.
The event was organised under the patronage of Dr. Vishal Sharma, Dean, School of Social Sciences, CLUJ. The organizing committee of the programme was Dr. Roshi Charak (Convenor), Dr. Parul Chhibber (Co-Convenor), Dr. Rajneesh Karloopia (member) and Dr. Waseem Rashid (member).
