Jammu, Aug 14: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District Jammu South observes August 14 as 'Vibhajan Vivishika Diwas' to remember the horrors of Partition. The program was organized under the presidency of BJP District President Jammu South Rekha Mahajan. Rekha Mahahan, along with State Vice President Aseem Gupta, State Secretary Prabhari Ayodhya Gupta, Former MLCs Vikram Randhawa and Charanjit Singh Khalsa, Former Deputy Mayor Baldev Billowria, Rajeev Charak, District General Secretaries Akash Chopra and Pushpinder Singh, and party functionaries, also spoke on the occasion.
Rekha said BJP District Jammu South is observing August 14 about the horrors of Partition and announced that the day would be observed as Partition Horror Remembrance Day. Rekha Mahajan stated the partition of the country in 1947 is an inhuman chapter of Indian history that can never be forgotten. She said BJP Jammu District South is planning to pay tributes to those who suffered during the partition and said that an "inhuman" chapter of India's history can never be forgotten. She asserted that 'Partition Horrors Remembrance Day' will remind the younger generation of the torture and pain suffered by the countrymen and will inspire citizens to maintain peace and harmony "forever.".
Ayodhya Gupta, the senior leader, condemned the Partition of India as an "inhuman chapter" in the country's history. He emphasized the need to remember and learn from the tragic event that resulted in immense human suffering, displacement, and loss of lives.
Baldev Billawaria and Vikram Randhawa stated that the partition of India was a horrific event that left deep scars on our nation. It's essential to acknowledge the pain and sacrifices of those who suffered during that dark period.
Charanjit Khalsa and Rajeev Charak appealed to the nation to come together to remember the victims of Partition and their families, who were forced to flee their homes, leaving behind their livelihoods and loved ones, and emphasized the importance of learning from the mistakes of the past to build a more inclusive and harmonious society.
Later, Jammu South senior leadership held a silent march from Party headquarters to mini market Trikuta Nagar to mark the Partition Horrors Remembrance Day, or Vibhajan Vibhishika Smriti Diwas, ahead of Independence Day today.
