GDC Majalta Celebrates 78th Independence Day with Patriotic Fervour

MAJALTA, Aug 16: In a grand celebration marked by patriotic zeal, Government Degree College Majalta commemorated the 78th Independence Day on the college campus. The program was inaugurated with the hoisting of the National Flag by the esteemed Principal, Dr. Shalini Sharma, at 8:55 a.m., followed by a soul-stirring rendition of the national anthem by the students. In her inspiring address, Dr. Sharma paid homage to the sacrifices made by the valiant freedom fighters and urged everyone to remain committed to safeguarding the nation. She emphasized the collective responsibility to ensure that India continues on the path to becoming a global leader once again, reminiscent of its former glory as the "golden bird."
Shipali, a Semester 5 student, also shared her heartfelt thoughts on this momentous occasion, expressing deep gratitude for the freedom we enjoy today. The celebrations continued with a series of vibrant cultural performances, including patriotic songs and dances, held in the college's Common Hall.
The event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by prof. Kamal Jeet, acknowledging the efforts of all those who contributed to the successful event. The entire program was meticulously organized by Prof. Anuradha, NSS Coordinator, along with NSS volunteers and the Cultural Club of the college. The day was a perfect blend of pride, patriotism, and cultural unity, leaving everyone with a renewed sense of national pride.
