GDC RS Pura celebrates 78th I-Day' with patriotic fervor

RS PURA, Aug 16: Government Degree College R. S. Pura today celebrated the 78th Independence Day with great patriotic fervour, zeal and enthusiasm. The program was started with hoisting of the National Flag by Principal GDC R. S. Pura, Prof. (Dr.) Preetpal Kour, in presence of faculty members and students followed by National Anthem and Drill performed by NCC cadets of the college under the supervision and guidance of Dr. Rakesh Choudhary, ANO Boys and Dr. Roopali Salathia, ANO Girls. In the second half cultural program was performed by NSS volunteers under the guidance of NSS coordinator and cultural committee. The cultural program included patriotic songs, dances and speeches which were anchored by Gusimar Kour, student of Semester Vth. The program concluded with National Anthem. While speaking on the occasion, Principal of the college congratulated the staff members and students to mark the 78th year of Independence. She said that the sacrifices of the freedom fighters should be remembered by all and we all should work towards progress and development of this country. She urged students to realize, understand and cherish this freedom and work towards a progressive nation. Dr. Chanchal Angral, NSS PO explained the ethos and themes of the Independence Day. The formal vote of thanks was extended by Dr. Chanchal Angral, Coordinator NSS, where she also highlighted the series of programs conducted by the college under Celebration of Independence Day' 2024 such as, Poster making, Plantation Drives, Cleanliness Drives, Rallies, quiz and rangoli making competitions etc.
