Dr Andrabi unfurls National Flag on Independence Day event of J&K Waqf Board at Anantnag

JAMMU, Aug 16: Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board Chairperson Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi today unfurled tricolor on the occasion of Independence Day at Anantnag. The event was organised by J&K Waqf Board in Islamia Hanfia Waqf Higher Secondary Institute today in which bands, march past contingents and cultural troops of all Waqf Schools of Kashmir division participated. The celebration of Independence was spectacular. The colourful programmes on the theme of patriotism and national pride were worth watching. Dr Andrabi addressed the gathering after the unfurling of the national flag. While extending her greetings to the people, Dr Darakhshan said that we are fortunate to witness the remarkable transformation in J&K after 2019 and now we are witnessing the celebration of tricolor in every part and every heart here. "After coming out of the shadows of violence, we are now living in a peaceful atmosphere where our young generation has proudly become part of India's growth story", said Dr Andrabi. She hailed the youth power of J&K for rejecting the parochial ideologies and for distancing from the separatist mindset and embracing the path of development and peace. "J&K is progressing like never before and we are achieving great successes in every sphere of life. J&K Waqf Board, during the past two and a half years, registered historical development and we all are committed to continue this journey of glory and achievements ", said Dr Andrabi. She presented appreciation certificates & awards to the best performing teams & individuals at the culmination of the event. Waqf Board Member Peer Mohammed Syed, Chief Executive Officer of the Board Zahir Kaifi, Tehsildar Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Executive Officer of Board for Anantnag Rafiq Wani, BJP leader & activist Arshid Bhat & Principals of the Educational institutes were also present during the event.
