Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 16: Kavinder Gupta, senior BJP leader and former deputy chief minister, today hailed the announcement of the schedule for the long-awaited assembly election in J&K.
Addressing a series of public meetings in and around Jammu city, the BJP stalwart leader termed the election schedule as a significant milestone, affirming the BJP's steadfast commitment to restoring a popular government in Jammu and Kashmir.
"The BJP has always been dedicated to the cause of democracy and ensuring that the people of Jammu and Kashmir have their rightful voice in governance," he said adding that today's announcement by CEC Rajiv Kumar is a testimony to the fact that BJP leadership's assurance on holding of Assembly polls was true to the hilt. He said that behind making the atmosphere conducive for polls there lies BJP's consistent efforts as the same helped in overcoming challenges posed by political turbulence and security concerns.
"The ensuing election is a vital step in fulfilling the party's promise of political restoration and development for the region. Since the day the delimitation process started in J&K, BJP under the realms of PM Narendra Modi was committed to undo the wrongs committed by the previous governments and restore and establish the democracy in its true spirit. There were many bottlenecks in the way but the Modi Government has come out with flying colours by tackling all the problems dexterously while taking along all the entities having stakes in J&K", he said while asking the party workers to intensify their efforts in preparation for the upcoming election. "The time is less, and the work is more," he said and appealed to the party cadre to focus on grassroots mobilization, engaging with the public, and spreading BJP's message of peace, development, and progress.
"Every effort will count in ensuring a successful election campaign", he said while calling for the unity, determination, and dedication among party workers, reminding them of the importance of their role in shaping the future of Jammu and Kashmir.
