GDC Samba bids farewell to DC Samba

JAMMU, Aug 17: Shri Pandit Prem Nath Dogra Government Degree College Samba hosted a heartfelt farewell to honor the esteemed Abhishek Sharma (IAS), former Deputy Commissioner, Samba. The event celebrated his significant contributions to the college and the local community during his tenure.
The ceremony commenced with traditional lamp lighting followed by a warm and respectful felicitation of former Deputy Commissioner, Samba, with Principal Dr. Twinkle Suri presenting him with a memento in recognition of his outstanding service.
In her welcome address, the Principal appreciated the immense contribution of former DC Samba towards the development of Samba district and exhorted that his tenure set high standard of excellence and dedication leaving a lasting legacy and that the leadership shall be remembered with respect and gratitude. She highlighted that under his leadership the district administration facilitated varied initiatives of the college like internships, infrastructure development, and establishment of Gyan Vatika- a book reading club among others.
The students of the college further enriched the ceremony with a patriotic group song and a solo Dogri performance by the talented Mridula Jasrotia, showcasing their artistic skills and patriotic spirit. A special segment of the program was dedicated to recognizing the achievements of the RDC Cadets, Senior Cadet Captain Naman Singh Jamwal, Senior Cadet Captain Sneghi Sambyal and Cadet Captain Aniket who were felicitated for their exemplary service and dedication.
The highlight of the event was former DC's address, where he reflected on his time at the college and expressed gratitude for the support and collaboration from the college administration. He reiterated that India is a culturally rich and diverse society, wherein teamwork is important to achieve milestones and the students should imbibe this in their day today lives.
The ceremony concluded with a formal vote of thanks by Dr. Banpreet Kaur, Coordinator IQAC, who expressed collective gratitude for the contributions of former DC and the continued support of all attendees. Dr. Shaveta Chowdhary compered the proceedings of the event. The college faculty extends its deepest gratitude to Abhishek Sharma (IAS) for his exceptional service and wishes him continued success in his future endeavors.
