| SENSELESS VIOLENCE CONTINUES: | | MILITANTS GUN DOWN TWO SISTERS AND BROTHERS IN POONCH | | Poonch,July 13,: Stepping up senseless violence in the border district of Poonch, militants gunned down four members of minority community on late wednesday evening sending a shock wave in the area. According to police, four members of the minority community including two sisters and two brothers were gunned down by a group of militants in village Magnar in Poonch district on wednesday night. Reports said, around wednesday midnight, militants first attacked the house of a government employee Mangat Ram killing two of his daughters Meenakshi and Priyanka on the spot and injuring his wife Sunita and youngest daughter Kamini(5). Bothe were immediately rushed to the Poonch hospital from where Kamini was shifted to Jammu medical college by doctors. Sunita received bullet injuries in one of her leg.In the second strike, militants barged inside the hosue of Ashok Kumar and killed his two sons Lokesh Kumar and Pankaj kumar on the spot. This is the third major attack onthe members of the minority community in the recent months. After Basantgarh and Kulhand massacre militants choose Poonch to spread terror, police said. Meanwhile, Poonch witnessed complete bandh on Thursday as shopkeepers down their shutters and joined procession of local residents demanding setting up of security picket in the area.The villagers performed last rites of the dead only after assurances were given by the security agencies that security picket would be established in the minority area. Reports said that massive manhunt has been launched by the police and security forces in the area to nab the cuplrits. in another incident in Rajouri district militants slit the throat of Salima Bi in village Chedriyal.Suspected militants also decamped with two guns and 200 rounds of ammunition from village basti in Bhaderwah inthe wee hours of Thursday morning.According to police, militants barged inside the hosue of village defence committee member Feroz Din and his brother in village basti in Bhaderwah around 2.30 a.m and decamped with their weapons and atleast 200 rounds of ammunition.Reports said militants also kidnapped another villager before fleeing the area.
