JKRA Kicks Off Shooting Championship at DYSS Range

Jammu, Aug 17: Today on the opening ceremony of 13th J&K UT Shooting Championship was held at Shooting Range of Directorate of Youth Services and Sports Gandhi Nagar Jammu. Total 150 registered Shooters from different Districts and Clubs are participating in this 07 day long championship.
S. Rajinder Singh Tara-JKAS Director Youth Services and Sports was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Jitender Mishra JKAS Deputy Director Central Youth Services and Sports J&K, Ravi Kumar JKAS, Deputy Director (E&S) Youth Services and Sports J&K, Sunil Kumar Sharma Accounts Officer Youth Services and Sports J&K, Rajeev Sharma Member J&K Sports Council were the Guests of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion Chief Guest lauded the efforts of Organizing Committee and assured full cooperation and help from the Department of Youth Services and Sports for making the event a grand success and memorable. He also said that, the infrastructure available at DYSS Shooting Range will be open for all the shooters of J&K. He appreciated the J&K Rifle Association for collaborating with DYSS and desired a long term relationship for the promotion and development of Shooting Sports.
Prominent others present on the occasion included S. Surinder Singh Sodhi President JKRA, Sh. Kuldeep Singh Jamwal Chairman JKRA, Sh. Sohan Lal Sharma and Sh. Ashok Kumar Vice-Presidents JKRA, Sh. Sharat Chander Singh CEO JKRA, Sh. Manu Wazir Joint Secretary JKRA, Sh. Arun Mansotra Treasurer JKRA and Sh. Vineet Gupta.
President J&K Rifle Association S. Surinder Singh Sodhi welcomed the Guests, Members, Shooters and their parents.
In his welcome address, he thanked the Chief Guest for providing the infrastructure to JKRA and other stakeholders who are involved in the successful conduct of the championship. He apprized the gathering about the activities of JKRA and the hard-work that has been put in by JKRA for the upliftment of Shooting Sports in J&K, which has started bearing fruits of success by J&K Shooters who are bringing laurels to the J&K by bagging Medals at National and International Level.
During the week long championship, the competition will be held at different shooting ranges i.e Shooting Range of DYSS, Mission Olympic Shooting Academy Jammu, NCC Shooting Range at Nagrota and Police Academy Udhampur.
The proceedings of the inaugural were conducted in a very smooth manner by Sh. Sharat Chander Singh CEO JKRA who is also the organizing Secretary of the Championship.
The matches of the Championship will be conducted by Technical Panel of JKRA comprising of Mr. Madhupal Singh, Mr. Vijay Kumar, S. Surjeet Singh, Sh. Shamsher Singh, Mr. Vishal Mehra, Mr. Aman Singh, Mr. Tarundev Singh, Mr. Pranav Sambyal and Mr. Sahil Sharma under the overall supervision of Sh. Rajesh Virdhy Chairman Technical Committee JKRA.
