Deptt of Youth Services & Sports Reasi Hosts District-Level Inter-School Selection Trials

REASI, Aug 17: The Department of Youth Services & Sports Reasi, in collaboration with the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Katra, successfully organized district-level inter-school selection trials in various sports disciplines, including Shooting, Judo, Archery, and Basketball. The trials took place at the SMVD Sports Complex in Reasi, drawing over 80 talented young athletes from across the district.
The event was graced by the presence of Sh. Sanjeev Kotwal, the Nodal Officer of SMVD Sports Complex Katra, who served as the chief guest. During the event, Sh. Tarsem Singh, District Officer, welcomed the participants and expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Sh. Anshul Garg, Chief Executive Officer of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Katra, and Sh. Vipin Bhagat, Director of Sports, for their invaluable support in making the SMVD Sports Complex available for the trials.
Simultaneously, selection trials for other disciplines, such as Fencing, were conducted at the Indoor Stadium in Reasi, showcasing the district's dedication to promoting a diverse range of sports.
The trials were overseen by a team of experienced coaches, including Sh. Danish Sharma (Judo Coach), Sh. Jaydeep Kumar (Shooting Coach), Sh. Sanjeev Kumar (Archery Coach), and Sh. Jagdev Singh (Basketball Coach). Their expertise ensured that the trials were conducted with the highest standards of professionalism.
The selected players from these trials will advance to participate in the upcoming inter-district Provincial Level competitions, representing Reasi with pride and determination.
The event was further supported by a dedicated team of officials and volunteers, including Kuldeep Kumar, Devinder Kour, Jasbir Kour, Asha Devi, Jaswant Singh, Jyoti Sharma, Shamim Akther, Anjali Sharma, Ranjeet Kumar, Vikas Verma, Rakesh Kumar, Priya Devi, Usha Devi, Galak Gandotra, Sapna Devi, Sahil Sharma, Ankush Sharma, Neha Sharma, Sehar Akther, Rajan Kumar, and Anoop Jyoti.
This initiative reflects the commitment of the Department of Youth Services & Sports Reasi and the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board Katra to nurturing young talent and fostering a vibrant sports culture in the region.
