GDC Nagrota Celebrated Anti-Ragging Week (12th to 18th August)

Nagrota, Aug 18: As part of the celebration of the Anti-ragging week, aligning with the nationwide initiative across Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) aimed at promoting awareness and fostering a safe and respectful environment for all students.
The anti-ragging committee of Government Degree College Nagrota under the guidance of Prof Vandana Ghai, Head department of Chemistry and Convener of Anti-ragging cell took the week-long initiative that included various activities and programs designed to educate students about the consequences of ragging and the importance of maintaining a ragging-free environment in the college campus.
The week-long celebration included, sticking of posters based on the theme of antiaging on the notice boards, in the college library and around the campus. Apart from this on 12 August 2024 orientation sessions were led by Prof Ritu Dewan Head, Department of English and Prof Anchal Sharma Head, Department of Environmental Science.
In continuum to the activities, on August 13 2024, a short documentary was shown to the students of the college to sensitize them on the Anti-Ragging Act as well as to aware them about their legal and ethical responsibilities in the college campus.
The celebration of anti-ragging week culminated today on August 17, 2024 with the organisation of poster making competition. Students of the college enthusiastically participated in the event
The initiative was spearheaded under the supervision of Principal Prof. Anjali Mahajan.
The celebration of the week-long anti-ragging week saw key participation Prof. Vandana Ghai Prof. Ritu Dewan Prof Arvind Sharma and Prof Jaspal, all of whom contributed and played an instrumental role in the successful execution of the week-long event.
