Civil Defence organizes awareness programme

JAMMU, Aug 19: A one-day awareness-cum-demonstration programme was held today at the NCC Camping Ground in Nagrota, Jammu. The event was organized by Civil Defence Jammu under the supervision of Dy.SP Anita Pawar, the Deputy Controller of Civil Defence Jammu.
The programme aimed to educate NCC cadets on crucial emergency response techniques, including First Aid, CPR, choking management, firefighting, flood rescue, and other emergency rescue methods. Civil Defence Instructors conducted live demonstrations to provide practical knowledge on these lifesaving skills. The event saw the participation of 500 NCC cadets, who actively engaged in the sessions. The Camp Commander, Col. R.S. Jasrotia, and Adm. Col. Yash Chibber, both of NCC Camping Ground Nagrota, praised the efforts of the Civil Defence organization. They expressed their gratitude to the Civil Defence team for conducting such a vital awareness programme, highlighting the importance of emergency preparedness.
In addition to the cadets and instructors, the event was attended by Sh. R Vijay Magotra, Deputy Chief Warden of Civil Defence Jammu, and SI Ram Dayal, In-Charge of Trainings for Civil Defence. The staff of NCC Nagrota was also present, contributing to the success of the programme.
This initiative by Civil Defence Jammu is part of their ongoing efforts to enhance community awareness and preparedness in emergency situations, particularly among young cadets who may play a critical role in future rescue operations.
