Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 21: In a proactive effort to ensure campus safety and provide robust support to new students, GGM Science College has launched a comprehensive initiative combining an Anti-Ragging Campaign with an Admission Counseling support system. This student-led program, driven by the college's NSS units, aims to create a welcoming and secure environment for all students. The initiative, spearheaded by Principal Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, has established a dedicated help desk manned by NSS volunteers. This help desk is designed to assist newcomers with guidance and support, addressing concerns related to ragging and admission processes. The initiative is a crucial part of the college's broader commitment to fostering a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus environment.
"Our goal is to create a supportive environment where students can seek help and guidance freely. The student-led counseling at the help desk is a crucial step towards achieving a safe and ragging-free campus," stated Prof. (Dr.) Romesh Kumar Gupta, emphasizing the importance of the initiative.
The campaign and counseling efforts are guided by NSS Programme Officers Dr. Rahul Kait and Dr. Neha Sharma, who have highlighted the pivotal role of NSS volunteers in providing immediate assistance and addressing any issues related to ragging. Their involvement ensures that students receive timely and empathetic support, reinforcing the college's zero-tolerance policy towards ragging. The program has been met with positive feedback from both students and faculty, further underscoring GGM Science College's dedication to maintaining a secure and supportive campus atmosphere.
