Motor Vehicle Department organised Road Safety Awareness Programme at Mount Litera Zee School Kathua

KATHUA, Aug 21: Motor Vehicle Department Kathua organised a programme on road safety at Mount Litera Zee Higher Secondary School in Kathua town and made the school students aware of traffic rules and also conducted safety audit of school buses. The programme was organised under the directions of RTO Kathua JKS Kewal Krishan. During the programme, ARTO Kathua Shammi Kumar along with MVI Jatinder Chib, SMVI Neeraj Kumar and other staff of the department were present on this occasion while school principal teaching staff and school bus drivers were also present during the program. During the programme, ARTO Shammi Kumar gave a detailed lecture on road safety rules and appealed to the students to follow traffic rules. He appealed to the students to avoid driving before obtaining the driving license and to avoid overloading in school vans/buses and also cautioned the students against drug abuse and to help those under the influence of drugs by making their parents, teachers and other loved ones aware.
The event was followed by a safety audit of over 25 vehicles inside the school premises. During the audit, each bus was thoroughly inspected, checked for compliance with safety rules like seat belts, emergency exits, first aid kit and overall maintenance of the vehicle. The event was followed by an oath to follow traffic rules from the school students.
