Jammu, Aug 22: Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women in Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, hosted an inspiring event titled “Ek Ped Maa k Naam, Ek Ped Shaheed k Naam.” This plantation drive, organized by the college’s alumni, aimed to honor the cherished memories of mothers and martyrs by planting trees in their names. The initiative reflected a profound commitment to both environmental preservation and the commemoration of national heroes.The event was graced by Principal SP Saraswat, who delivered a stirring speech emphasizing the importance of environmental conservation and the symbolic significance of planting trees as a tribute to those who have given so much to the nation. The plantation drive was attended by a distinguished group of alumni, including President Radha Sharma, Vice President Dr. Davinder Kour, General Secretary Smt. Madhavi Sharma, Assistant Secretary Smt. Sunita Bhagat, Joint Secretary Smt. Ambica Samnotra, and other prominent members such as Neerus Luthra, Dr. Anjali Bhat, Prof. Archana Bakshi, Prof. Babita Jamwal, Prof. Bindu Chib, Dr. Anshu Sharma, Dr. Shakun Mahajan, Prof. Anupama Sharma, Prof. Poonam, Dr. Chetna Mahajan, Dr. Kiran Kalra, and Dr. Jagmeet Kour.
