Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 22: IMS Jammu celebrated World Entrepreneurs' Day with a vibrant event that brought together students, faculty, and distinguished guests. The occasion was graced by two Alumni Entrepreneurs of the Institute -- Mrs. Sonia Sharma, owner of Bombshell by Sonia, and Mr. Rahul Sharma, owner of Monk Solution, along with Director Dr. Meenakshi Sharma, faculty members, and enthusiastic students.
The event commenced with a warm welcome to all attendees. Vanshika Gupta, Assistant Professor, set the stage with an insightful presentation on the significance of World Entrepreneurs' Day, emphasizing the rise of entrepreneurship in India and IMS's role in nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit among its students.
The highlight of the event was the inspiring speeches delivered by the guest entrepreneurs. Mr. Rahul Sharma shared his journey from a freelancer to the owner of Monk Solution, a successful IT company. He discussed the challenges he faced and how persistence, skill development, and market exploration were crucial to his success. Rahul encouraged students to leverage online resources like YouTube to enhance their skills and emphasized that financial constraints should not hinder their entrepreneurial ambitions.
Sonia Sharma, an accomplished entrepreneur in the beauty industry, captivated the audience with her story of transitioning from teaching to establishing her brand, Bombshell by Sonia. She spoke passionately about the importance of having both passion and skills in entrepreneurship. Sonia highlighted the realities of entrepreneurial life, where there are no fixed working hours, and the need for relentless hard work and mental resilience. She also touched on the significance of financial independence, particularly for women, and encouraged students to believe in themselves despite societal challenges.
The event also featured presentations by Ujwal and Rashi from MBA 3rd Semester, who highlighted the achievements of global and Indian entrepreneurs, including Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, Mukesh Ambani, and Ratan Tata. Their presentations showcased how these visionaries have transformed industries and inspired others to pursue bold ideas. Additionally, the event included a showcase of innovative startup ideas from students Rashmika and Dhruv Behl, focusing on sustainable solutions to global warming. Rashmika presented her "Direct Air Capture Carflex Method," while Dhruv discussed "Eco-Friendly Packaging" made from rice straw, demonstrating the creative potential of IMS students.
The event concluded with a motivational address by Professor J.R. Dhotra, who urged students to embrace challenges and pursue new innovations. A vote of thanks was delivered by Mrs. Sheetal Sharma, BCA Department Coordinator, expressing gratitude to the guests, faculty, and students for their active participation. Dr Meenakshi Sharma, Director IMS Jammu congratulated the Faculty and Student council for organizing the successful event and hoped more such Alumni interactions will be held in future for inspiring the students.
